SALES MIX / PROFIT FIRST
Build the sales mix.
Work backward from $65,000 in net sales: $15,000 client repayment, then $25,000 each to the client and company. With a 10% sales deduction, the gross target is $72,222.23, rounded up to cents.
Independent study panel. Inputs here do not change the acquisition forecast above. Stage-one checkout prices: admission $97, bundle $97, replay $67, Action Pack $37. Digital categories are mutually exclusive; ticket buyers may also buy one digital offer. Quantities are sales requirements, not predicted conversions.
Deposit funding and Profit First assumptions
The $15,000 deposit funds $5,000 of ads and $10,000 of other event costs. It is fully spent in this scenario, with no extra event costs or leftover deposit margin. Do not subtract the advertising cost again from sales. Press costs must fit the remaining deposit budget or be added to actual costs. Additional event costs increase the required sales target; overhead charged to the deposit must not be counted again in company expenses.
Tax and profit reserves are applied only to the company’s post-split contribution, not the client’s deposit or the partner’s proceeds. Defaults of 10% tax and 10% profit are editable cash-planning placeholders, not calculated tax liabilities or approved bank rules. Remaining cash must cover company overhead and owner pay. Owner pay is not automatically a tax deduction. Actual liability depends on entity, taxable profit, other income, deductions and payments already made.
Ten percent is not verified as sufficient. The IRS generally requires self-employed people to cover income tax and self-employment tax; the latter has a stated 15.3% rate on applicable net earnings. IRS tax guidance · Self-employment tax. Reviewed October 20, 2026. Reserve percentages do not create transfers.

04 / STUDY THE MODEL
What must be true.
Entries are not seats.
Only accepted prize tickets, additional complimentary registrations and paid admissions create live attendees. Buying recordings alone does not create admission. This model assumes every allocated prize is accepted.
Count each person once.
Speaker and partner entry targets are reduced by the overlap allowance. Referrals are additional valid entrants from the paid-ad cohort only, with no infinite viral loop. Direct paid targets must exclude everyone already counted in contest entries.
Give each offer one price.
Admission is $97. At checkout, the bundle is $97, replay only $67 and Action Pack only $37. Digital categories are mutually exclusive; admission and digital buyers may overlap. Higher post-event prices and second-ticket bumps are excluded.
Recovery comes before profit.
Sales deductions and any additional sales-funded expenses come first. Net sales return the partner’s deposit, then surplus splits 50/50. The deposit itself is not counted as product sales. Producer margin from the deposit is shown separately.
Formulas, sources and important limits
Attendance: complimentary registrations × free show-up rate + paid registrations × paid show-up rate. It means unique people attending at least once, not concurrent viewers or attendee-hours.
Contest: floor(ad budget ÷ entry cost) + additional referred entrants + speaker entrants after overlap + partner entrants after overlap. Prize inventory is floor(prize value ÷ supported ticket face value), capped by entrants. Nonwinners × admission purchase rate = paid contest tickets.
Direct promotion: speaker count × additional direct paid tickets per speaker + additional partner paid tickets. These are incremental purchases, not the same people counted in the contest funnel.
Digital: unique contest entrants + incremental direct paid buyers + additional complimentary registrations, multiplied by digital purchase rate. Product counts are allocated once across bundle/replay/pack and rounded to whole orders.
Producer earnings: deposit − acquisition budget − deposit-funded production − other deposit-funded costs + 50% of net sales above partner recovery. A net sales deficit is charged to the producer. Expenses funded from the deposit are not deducted from sales again. Confirm this expense allocation in the actual agreement.
Source basis: Carlos’s October 18, 2026 planning inputs (500 attendees, $50,000 sales, $5,000 acquisition, $100,000 ticket-value giveaway, 40–50% free and 80–90% paid show-up); Miami Marketer’s approved conference pricing and recoupment-first partnership model. Acquisition costs, referrals, promotion yields, conversions, production costs and deductions are illustrative editable assumptions. No live ad, CRM or sales data is connected.
Downside: the approved $15,000 first-event offer includes one additional event at no additional partner cost if recovery is incomplete. That future delivery cost is not included here. A 10% sales deduction is only a placeholder; affiliate commissions, actual fees and refunds can make it higher.
Scope: this is a campaign planning tool, not a contest launch, checkout, live QA certification, earnings guarantee or legal valuation of the prize. All scenarios assume the same conversion rates across sources unless edited globally. No actual audience sizes or commitments have been verified.
Start with the working case. The 500-attendee plan assigns nine extra direct paid registrations per speaker, adding a buffer at the lower 40% free / 80% paid show-up rates. Replace assumptions with measured campaign results as they arrive.
